FTGRACING
Okay, little low on cash now to start working on my motor so I am doing some plastic surgery. I cut out a few inches on the center and used that piece as backing reinforcement to rivet. Next I will do some plastic welding and use some plastic filler and then paint white or black. I did take some pics along the way an will post when I get this process done. I should have a little more time to work on i around xamss. The overall style I have so far is what I wish some aftermarket company would come up with. Edited November 22, 2010 by FTGRACING

FTGRACING
Yeah, hope they come out good. I actually modded my old Tecate 4 hood buy welding filling and painting the headlight and light switch holes to have a smoothy look.
ban99
I think that will look pretty cool when its all done. Nice job.
FTGRACING
Thanks, when I'm done I wish I could just have someone make a mold and cast new ones as needed with better paintable plastic or fiberglass. Since there is going to be a bunch of time in these and one little crash and I'm redoing it. Oh well guess I better not crash.
ban99
you could make a mold yourself, it's really not that hard. Do a search on "how to make a fiberglass mold" Here is just one I found Edited November 22, 2010 by ban99
06specialedition
Interesting. Can't wait to see the finished product
FTGRACING
Yeah, Have thought about making a mold, but time is the problem. When I don't see what I like, I make it but would suck to break it. I guess I need to figure out if I will make a mold before paint. If I happen to make a mold of these how many would want it? This mod is my own thing, I like to keep the basics of a machine but tweak it. If I were to spend the time making a mold I would like to sell them. I just can't understand why nobody hasn't done similar yet?

I thought about making the mold my self, but it is your idea so dont want to steal it from you.

FTGRACING
Hey, I don't really have the time to make a mold anyway but I may if need be (if I could quite my job then I could do it but that isn't happening), I know it will take alot of that, if you would want to make a mold go to it. I think alot of people on here would like the stock look but trimmed down like a hot rod. I will in the next few weeks get my modded fenders finish welded, filled and sanded the my buddy will paint. If you are really serious about doing a mold and making them I might even send you the fenders for the mold (can I get a really reduced rate for that?) or I will get you some pics of how I did them for the base. I just think this would be a cool alternative. If you make it please just give me some credit for the idea. When I did a similar thing on kawie riders with a hood mod I at least got "inspired by..." Any questions let me know.
FTGRACING
Sorry what I ment to add is, making the mold may not be that big of deal but if you need to make a bunch for others as a business that takes time especially laying f-glass. I know I do graphics on the side already.
the sheee
those are killer, just this week i was thinking to my self how to make a set (even to make a mold from them) making a mold of them is a good idea, that way you could make a bunch of sets for if they are ever damaged. like i said tho, they look good and plastic welding them should work like a dream. Thanks. You know I was thinking again on the fibreglass and using a mold. I think they would be very prone to break especially the end of the fenders that stick out, it would be interesting to see though. To bad we couldn't get Full Bore to make them, Maier probably would if we ordered enough sets the problem is their fenders don't fit well from the ones I had in the past. Judge1
I have wondered why some one with the know how has not made a mold and start selling platic. If it was a quality product you could sell them like hot cakes for 100 bucks or so! $500 for 5$ worth of plastic is asinine!!! You would think some aftermarket company would take the wallmart approach and sell more for less.
