Benn350
Hi everyone, i am doing a top end rebuild on my Banshee and was wondering if it is possible to fit a Hour Meter to the bike and if so is it easy to install? How many hours roughly should u get out of a top end rebuild? Benn.
dirtydownunder
its as easy as taking a shit. one wire comes off the hour meter, you wind the end of that wire around your spark plug lead like 6 times then zip tie it on (so it doesnt un wind) then mount your hour meter some where. yamaha reckon 30hrs for a rebuild, i say shut up yamaha. rebuild when the bike starts loosing its edge and hard cold starting and low compression. or when a rod is sticking out the side, thats also a good indication. Snopczynski
That whole hour measuring top end rebuild thing is bullshit. You just ride it until it blows up or the compression drops more than 10-15 psi from what it started out at.

I keep track of my hours but didn't use it as a guideline for when it needed anything, I average about 200 hours on a topend...
