I have one in my cheetah. So far so good. I actually had a few Vitos cranks over the years. i never had a problem with the cranks. The pistons on the other hand is a different story. RadarRacing
A buds 4 mil vitos crank has seperated twice with low hours on it and bbcmudtruck's 10 mil vitos crank came apart this year and they sent him a replacement and it broke a few rides later. As for their cylinders there's numerous posts where their plating peeled off after one ride and they will not stand behind it at all they just say TOO BAD SUCKER. pabansheematt
Maybe Loco will post some pics and info. He just had one come appart. I hope mine holds up. I had a stock stroke one I bought new. Ran it for years. Sold it, got it back. Then sold it again. It was still tight, and I ran the shit out of it. 2004LEBanshee
I got one of there 4mill cranks. So far so good, but it only has 3 rides on it. What do you mean by seperate? Just split in the middle? Pretty much. Its what stock cranks do if there not welded. They start to get a gap in the middle by rods. There just pressed and it will the throw the timing off and other things. Eventually it goes BOOM. Look on Ebay youll see some stockers that are starting to seperate for sale. Hole shots are a big cause of it. Always weld them. Edited November 8, 2010 by 2004LEBanshee
bansheesrtoys
i have the +4 from viteos and ran it all summer hard as hell with a couple of missed shifts(meaning reving it way to high from 1st to 2nd gear) still the welds held up. and last year i had a stock one from them bent a rod but the welds were all still good maybe i just got lucky or maybe they have different people weldings for them and thats why some r good and some come apart. well i hope because like i said i have one. and bending the rod was all my fault i think . sucked up a gallon of water and that was it. plus the new +4 crank have reinfoced rods and their polished. bbcmudtruck
I wouldn't take run another Vitos crank even if it was donated to me. My 10mil Vitos crank seperated twice with less than 10hrs on it. I sent it back to Vitos once and they rebalanced it and re welded it. Then I took it to FAST and he double checked the trueness and welds. I ran it again and on the first ride it seperated again. As far as I'm concerned, they are junk. Get ahold of Jeff or Andy and get yourself a Hotrods if your going to do a 4mil.

midlifecrisis
Yeah, I was gonna say, isnt the weld supposed to prevent that from happening? I run a stock vitos crank, that I bought after it was rebuilt and welded, and havent had any issues with it, is it just the 4 and 10mils? My friend had his platting come off on the first tank, he sent them back to be re-sleeved and now the thing will bearley climb choke cherry.
