silencers with no packing

i pulled my silencers apart yesterday to drill and install some sheet-metal screws because the rivets on my P.C. 2's were wearing off. i pulled the cap off of one and it was completely empty. no packing, no insert tube, nothing. the thing is, my bike ran great when it was running a few weeks ago. is it okay for the motor to run it with no packing? i am definitely going to buy some packing and make some tubes for them but is it okay for me to run it for now until i do that? also when i put the packing in will i have to change my jetting? thanks guys.

Need to have a good clean perforated core in there. It will pick up trq/hp with good packing in it. Make sure to wrap the new packing TIGHT and use strips of Masking tape about every 2-3 inches. Use new rivets or locktight the bolts in the endcap.

Yep packing keeps the exhaust flowing straight through the perforated center core. With no packing there is a lot of turbulence in the exhaust silencer. That causes a decrease in exhaust flow which causes a drop in hp. But hay it sounds bad ass. :rotflmao:

Yes it does sound bad ass lol
