NV-Banshee
We just got our son a new 06 and have a few troubles with it. It has overheated twice, once while riding and once while idling. The engine keeps running even after the switch is shut-off and the key is off and out. After running for a while and then putting it in neutral the engine revs and the only way to shut it off is by giving it gas. Something tells me it has something to do with the TORS. The dealer has it back but thought i would check here for any idea's. Love the site
fastbanshee8
#1-You can't leave a Banshee idling, while sitting still for long, as they need air moving through the radiator, to cool them, and #2-it's lean, way lean. That's why it won't shut off. You've either got an air leak, or the wrong jetting. Don't start it, until you fix the problems, unless you want to do a top end rebuild, which you may end up doing anyways.
jbooker82
Yep it is lean. It causes the spark plugs to run super hot. Then the hot plugs ignite the fuel and air, not the spark. You could pull the plug wires off and it will keep on running. Giving it throttle floods the engine out cooling the plugs and causing it to die. You can also put it in gear and let out on the clutch with the brakes on.
