-Herbie-
I bought these from harbor freight and used them to get my yfz450 springs off. I just ratchet strapped each of them across from each other to the end of the shock with the reservior and slipped the single prong side into the spring then wrenched it down until i could pull the retainer clip out. I trimmed an 1/8" off the single prongs andwrapped them with electrical tape so they would not scratch the springs. Its kind of a pain to work with these but it worked for $10. http://www.harborfreight.com/macpherson-strut-spring-compressor-set-3980.html
So Cal Suspension
Snop, what happened to your spring compressor that you made?

Snopczynski
I still have the compressor. You dont need a compressor for front yfz450 springs (at least the ones I have). You just unscrew the nuts all the way and push the spring down a little then pull the collar out.
