papasmurf
Hey guys, whenever I first start up my banshee for the day its never able to idle without me giving it some gas. I'll hear the engine fire after about 1 or 2 kicks but it wont idle for more than a few seconds without me giving it a little gas. After maybe 30 seconds of giving it gas with some light revs it seems to idle fine. The other thing I notice is once I get it to idle on its on as stated above if it sits for more than maybe a minute the low end bogs down real bad. I'll hit the throttle and it just sounds like its about to stall out until I rev it higher. Once I ride for a bit and the engines warm it will fire and idle first kick and the low end doesn't seem to bog anymore than any other banshee would considering the power curve. AKheathen
you are supposed to use the choke untill the choke starts to load it up (about 30 sec).......
papasmurf
you are supposed to use the choke untill the choke starts to load it up (about 30 sec)....... I do use the choke when I start it up, I still have to give it gas to keep it going. Then after it will idle without the choke on, if i rechoke it wont idle. blk02banshee
Sounds like it's too lean on the air/fuel mixture. Try turning each air screw (on the side of the carb bodies) in (to the right) 1/4 turn at a time, until the dead spot is gone. If it doesn't make a difference, the pilot jet(s) could be clogged. Most likely air screws, though.
