My motor gained rpm and horsepower by going to an oem box because the dyna was breaking up on the big end. We tried many configurations before pulling the dyna, including setting the curve the same as stock.

You guys realize that the stock curve in the dyna is not the same as the stock curve in the oem ignition right? The dyna curve is actually advanced 4 degrees over what the oem igniton is at 9,500-10,000 rpm range. So you werent running it on the same as the oem curve.
