strokeittwice
you would also need a heavy duty clutch kit as well, maybe even a lock up. a good set of pipes and some bigger carbs too. 421's are strong little motors. imho....i wouldnt run a 421 in the woods, a set of nicely ported stockers will do the trick just fine with a 4mil crank. omynerd
well the riding i do around the house is out in a open field, no tight turns or trails whatsoever. alot of space to open it up, thats why he said it would be okay to go with the 421. and i drag it on the side as well and want to be as competitive as i can

It all depends on how much money you want to spend, when you move up to the 421 and up,the v-force 3 reeds work good,by them for anything smaller and its a waste of money because your not pushing enough hp to be effective,a adjustable stator plate is a good investment, unless you run a cdi with adustable timing curve, then a plate is not needed, but some builders do use both of them for methenol, alky and race gas,so what you want to spend and how you want to set it up,but a lockup clutch you'll need,if your running a 7 plate basket,i run a 8plate hinson and they told me I'll need one,but I havent burned them up yet,Look at my mods and thats the limit, unless you want to get into straight drag racing. okbeast
Well if that all seems overwhelming you can cut off the porting because Cub's don't really need porting to run awesome. And you can run one on pump gas so race fuel or alcohol isn't necessary.

Why wouldnt ya do it if U already got the cylinder off??
