SAVAGE420
So your wanting to just replace the lower case? Or just get in there and fix/change something without taking the top end off?

SAVAGE420
So what exactly are you wanting to do inside? You will still have to take off the clutch, bearing plate and the timing plate also ether way you go about splitting.

SAVAGE420
It's always best to replace them as a set. There cast as a set from Yamaha. Not saying you cant, but it's best to do them as a set. You ever split the cases before?

jbooker82
i have a got a set of cases why is it the best to keep them together.i have split the case on 2 or 3 blasters You can take them appart and put them back to gether fine. You just dont want to mix and match case halfs. The top and bottom haves are a set. Yamaha bolts them together and finish bores / line hones all the bearing surfaces / bores. If you mix and match the cases you might end up with to tight or to loose of a bearing clearance.
