Jereme6655 Posted September 21, 2010 Report Share Posted September 21, 2010 like savage said.....drain tank and drain carb bowls. then for a little extra coverage i spray a little fogging oil into each cylinder through the spark plug hole and slowly give it one kick. depending if your keeping it at say a cottage (in the woods as opposed to the city) we will even go the route of taping (or jamming a piece of steel wool) into the exhaust to keep mice from entering into the pipes.....if you don't have spark arresters. So drain the carbs , or just run the fuel out of the carbs !! and as stated above,, drain the gas.. use it for something else as it will go bad!!! AKheathen Posted September 21, 2010 Report Share Posted September 21, 2010 nah, that's only when it's a hot engine. if it's cold, you can run it dry no problem, even pull the choke to keep it sucking fuel out. trust me- the oil isn't going to disappear any time soon, or it wouldn't work for shit, and you would need to mix 2:1. when it runs out of fuel, oil, or fog the cyls, like suggested and oil the chain. leaving a tiny bit of premix in the carbs is a good thing, too. if you wanna go all out, pick up some dry plugs. you stick them in the plug holes and they absorb moisture.
