Let me start by saying that I am not trying to rip on with either company, just trying to see if anyone else has had this happen.

I got my build finished and during the pipe installation ran into a problem. The left headpipe is either to big or the cascade silencer is too small for the two to mate properly. I got a week long riding trip beginning tuesday so I called TR and the dude told me to wack the end of the stinger with a rubber mallet to make it fit. He said go on the trip and if there are any other problems, send the pipes and stingers to Toomey for them to look at. I am taking the bike and all to cascade Monday to see if they can help out. So if this has happened to you, please tell me your solution to the problem.

Thanks!

I had an issue with my old FMF's not fitting right. FMF Golds, with powercore silencers. What I had to do was not run the lower bolt on the silencer. I don't know if the cascades mount like the toomey's do, or if they use the upper, and lower bolt like FMF's do.

It was strange, everything was where it was supposed to be, but it just looked like the stingers were too short... there was about a 3/4" gap between the stinger, and pipe. :shrugani:

They can be a tight fit. They are usually pretty snug then whent they chrome plate them they get tighter.

Who's parts are you useing? Did you buy the whole T5 setup from cascade? Or just there slilencers.

Headers from Toomey and the Silencers are from cascade. The right side fits snug like how ur talkin J, but the left just will not seal or ever overlap. Its friggin weird. Im gonna bring it there and hopefully on of those fellas can help me on Monday.

Matt, this is before bolting the silencers, just connecting them. But it has 1 tab that goes in the grab bar threads.

To make my day even better, I left my fuel petcock on reserve and somehow the right carb fuel line slipped off and left me with a fresh gallon of break in premix on my garage floor.

It is just trying to replace the grunge on the top case half

Talk to Cascade, I bet the problem is on their end of the package. Toomey's are mass produced from stampings and every pipe should be to spec. The Cascade stingers are made one at a time and are more likely for something to be off.

TTT anyone else. I will post tomorrow the results of my visit.

I just got back from my visit.

Reason for issue: Triple plated chrome and the inside of the stinger tube needs "ported" to fit over the header correctly. Mike said they "port" all of the tubes but some need a little more sometimes.

Solution: He took it in the back, fixed my shit in minutes and I was on my way.
