robert.b.west Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 So, these are ment for a stock crank right? Quote
dajogejr Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 As far as Andy has told me, they are only out for a 4 mil stroker. A cylinder for a stock crank is in the works, though. Quote

hercalmighty Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Post some good pics of the ports man Quote
dajogejr Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Post some good pics of the ports man Why? To the naked eye...you'll barely be able to tell the difference between it and a cub, unless you've never seen the porting on a cub before. The port timings are different by a couple mm's. That's hard to see by the naked eye... Quote
hercalmighty Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I know that Daj. Just want to see the ports man. I would ask him to do a port map but thats a pita. I like to see different port designs and stuff. Just more curious then anything else. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Sorry bout that...didn't mean to come off as gruff...LOL. Just didn't know if you knew the dealio with the cylinders. All good... Quote
hercalmighty Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 No worries. Yeah I know the port timings are lower then the cubs. Since I first heard about these things I have been trying to get as much info as I can. I want to see if any builders do any testing on them. I know everyone is saying to not port them because then you might as well go with a cub. But, you can see there is a big difference in the curve between these and the cubs. So if someone could get some extra power out of them but keep the power curve it would be killer. I know I'm asking for a lot but I would like close to stock cub numbers but a broader powerband without having to spend the money on a cheetah. Right now I think these Servals are only making about 5-10 more hp then my 4mil setup but they have a much smoother power delivery. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 My advice would be to run them as cast, except cleaning up the flaws. If you try to get more power out of them not only should you buy a cub, but...you'll have a cub type power delivery which is exactly what you don't want from a set of these. I wish I had a duner...lol. Quote
hercalmighty Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Yeah I dont want to screw up the power band on these things. Quote
RagunCajun Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Where's a link to tell the prices of everything needed to make this work. I'm debating trying this because i already have a 4mil longrod crank. I'm afraid the power wont be as smooth as my current set up. That's $200 for the pistons, $700 for the cylinders and heads/domes/stub extenders? Quote
hercalmighty Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 I think the cylinders are $795. $220 for pistons. $30 for studs. $75 for domes if you have a cool head. Quote
#1JUANstunna Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 Post up more pics of these cylinders, side, intake, exhaust, ports etc. I just want to get a 360 degree view of these things. Quote
