RagunCajun
With a DD style lockup you can really tune your 60ft times, cut springs, take away some weight ,pin it and hold on Same with the sling shot. You can change the 6 regular springs and add/delete the little metal balls.
sleeper06
I run a 4 mil with an overide 1-4 shift 5th and sixth for asphalt . I run sand to and run the crap out of it. The clutch and tranny been together 3 years and it still does not slip. And I have no lockout. Know that motor only making about 72 or 73 hp but still I personally think thats pretty good. With out the lockup on my 4mil stock cyl it lasts 3-4 passes on asphault as apposed to 43 with the lockup,I def make alot more pwer but the motor he is running could benefit. The whole idea of drag racing on asphault is keeping your rpm up and traction.I personally like 2 be consistant,IMO slipping the clutch using spring pressure and weight for the first couple ft is the only way.Im no pro by far but i have seen drastic changes in my times and mph in the 1/4 by using this method ,I did not start out with a lockout but certain hp requires it
