stroking
IS it a must to run a lockup with a override tranny ?? does anyone have a override with a regular clutch setup ? whats the best clutch to use also ?
vulvafan537240
it kinda works backwards than that man. you really want to have an override if you have a lockup because its almost impsossible to shift a stock tranny with a lockup. a lockup is needed when you have a badass motor to keep the clutch from slipping. the FAST clutch is about the best clutch ive ever heard of. dajogejr
Stroking, What is the current size of your motor? You race pavement, right? Why "DON'T" you want to run a lockup?
bigboybanshee
its almost impsossible to shift a stock tranny with a lockup. lol, that's not true, I never had any problems shifting a stock transmission while running a lockup. Maybe you have some worn forks or a bent shift shaft. Anything over 75-80 hp, you'll want a lockup I use R1 fibers and raptor steels in my clutch

No problems at all with lock up and stock trans. I personally have had good luck with Tusk kits. Usually one a season. But I use toomey springs instead of the Tusk springs. RagunCajun
My override did ok without a lockup. But my worn out clutch slipped. I went with a cheap slingshot lockup so i can run 3HD/3 regular springs. I love an easy clutch pull. Gonna go to a hydraulic set up one of these days. stroking
why dont you wanna run a lock up? its more weight,so if i dont need it i would prefer to not run it. so far its been working good with one,its a stockcylinder/stock stroke drag bike with a n-d 1-5 override. badassbanshee479
I didnt run a lock up on my 4 mill for a while and didnt think the clutch was slipping.... noticed a big difference when I added a lock up though... the added weight is offset by getting more power to the wheels..... sleeper06
With a DD style lockup you can really tune your 60ft times, cut springs, take away some weight ,pin it and hold on
df350nos
With a DD style lockup you can really tune your 60ft times, cut springs, take away some weight ,pin it and hold on I run a 4 mil with an overide 1-4 shift 5th and sixth for asphalt . I run sand to and run the crap out of it. The clutch and tranny been together 3 years and it still does not slip. And I have no lockout. Know that motor only making about 72 or 73 hp but still I personally think thats pretty good.
