Just aquired 87 banshee for wife

Recommended Posts

Traded my wifes 96 polaris sport 400 for a 87 banshee. Polaris needed a counter balancer and water pump shaft. Everything is pretty tight on the banshee minus front left J arm bushing. Runs but is ill, have not dove into it yet.

Toomey t-3 pipes, TORS removed, pro flow adapter, really meaty razor 2's and a ROOST BOOST IGNITION IGNITOR? WTF? Seems like a boost bottle gimmick...is it worth selling when I take it off?

The "Roost Boost" by Answer Products was an electronic device put in the

electrical wiring before the spark plug. It was supposed to reshape the

charge and change its ignition timing so as to provide a boost inlow end power by

making a cleaner and faster burn in the cylinder.

My brother i law had one on his 1986 Cr500. I guess they are unheard of today,it was a 1980' technology breakthrough back in the day I guess. I dont think anyone still uses them now.

Got to mess with the banshee a little today. Broken reed on the right side, slipt reed on the left. T-shee hooked me up with some reeds and so far its running like a champ. Its ridable now IMO but the left j arm is a little sloppy and needs bushings, front brakes are spongy, chain is a tad loose. Not to bad for a machine nearly as old as me.
