So Cal Suspension
just got a 2005 bone stock banshee. i am wanting to know what mods i should do first. i know i need pipes but after that i am lost. You could always light it on fire...
So Cal Suspension
In all seriousness. I would do mods in this order. Pipes, Pro-flow adapter with filter or pods, Reeds, head (rechambered stock, or cool head), then porting, then light it on fire.
bigwilly0102
would it burn faster with those mods?/
06specialedition
How much do you want to build it? What kind of riding will you be doing? Pipes, Filters, Cool Head, Reeds, +4 Timing....I think those are your first few basic motor mods IMO.
bigwilly0102
also what are some good pipes just for bashing? and where is a good place to get all this stuff from?
06specialedition
I would suggest calling Brandon or Shay from WILDCARD RACING, they are a site sponsor on here and they can get any parts you need. I personally run CPI Inframes on my shee
SandmanPNW
I think before you go buying pipes, what kind of riding do you do? What is bashing? You dontneed a top end pipe if ur riding tight trails and BS.
okbeast
What kinda riding do you do, and what is your budget?
RagunCajun
I would do suspension after pipes. But seriously after the pipes, i would just enjoy riding the bike. The mod bug never stops so just enjoy the beast!
bigwilly0102
suspensions are so expensive tho. and if i put new pipes on do i need to rejet or put reeds on? and what is some free mods i can do?
muggzy
.. and if i put new pipes on do i need to rejet or put reeds on? and what is some free mods i can do? You BETTER rejet if you put pipes on or you're gonna burn that engine. There's no need to do reeds just 'cause you do pipes. For free you can take the top off of your air box (also will likely need to rejet) and you can advance your timing 4 degrees. You'll have to get a good rat-tail file and elongate the holes on the stator plate or get an offset (+4) woodruff key (it's almost free ) The airbox may not have too much impact without the pipes but it ought to give you a noticable improvement. Welcome to BHQ and good luck with the new ride!

Anytime, Oh! just to clarify; You wont be able to run your stock filter if you take the top off your air box, You have to drill about 6-8 1 inch holes in the top of your air box b/c the top holds the filter down. bansheesrtoys
i would start with extended a-arms and front shocks, then gear it for your riding, the stock front end on a banshee is out dated and is harsh compared to one with a good pair of +2+1 a-arms with elka's piggybacks.
