sootman73
Hello. New to the forums and to quads in general. Here's my dilemma, I found a 2001 banshee that a guy will trade me for my truck. here's his description of it: bored to 410, 6 inch extended swing arm, tommey 5 pipes, a boost bottle, and some bottom end work. This I'm sure runs pretty good but is it reliable? I want to trail ride with this bike with my buddy who has a 2007 Honda 400ex. i don't doubt i could keep up with him but i don't want a bike that every 50 hours i have to do engine or trans work to. How will this perform next to that stock 400ex and how reliable is it? Also what do you guys think it is worth. pictures look like its in pretty good shape too. sootman73
I figured with those mods i should be able to take him for his money? And how often do you have to rebuild a banshee especially one with those mods?

Welcome to BHQ, you will learn alot just from reading and asking questions on this site. First off if this banshee is a 410, you should have no problem eating that 400ex for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I'm no suspension expert but a 6 inch swinger would prob be way to much if your just trail riding, but you could always sell that. As for the bike being reliable? IMHO banshee's are just as reliable as any other quad...I have personally seen banshee's run years and years with no rebuild needed, and still holding a good compression. I think with any machine it is how you take care of it. Any pics of this banshee? list of parts?

06specialedition
Looks pretty clean. Still has stock tires from what I can tell.
ELKARACING_SHEE
looks like that banshee needs some race cut fenders front and back, and get rid of those stock nerfs lol
ECshee
looks like a basically stock banshee...i dont see why he would have "bored it to a 410" and left all the stock stuff still on? maybe he sold that seperately, idk. but the toomey's(very sweet) and swinger are a good start. looks clean an in a year, once you have it, youll be bitten by the bug just like the rest of us...itll probly look different 100 times. id find out what kind of "bottom end engine work was done". you dont want to invest in a motor that been improperly put back together and whatnot. ditch the boost bottle for a regular crossover tube. how much is the asking price? sootman73
well i dont want to get rid of the fenders because i'll be doing a lot of trail ride at high speeds and dont need things whipping up at my face. I dont race anyway so y turn it into a race bike? i, pretty much gonna be ripping through farm fields and woods..... yea i would like to know what it was that he did to the bottom end and why he doesn't want it anymore..... heres another picture... sootman73
Hes asking 2800 for it but i'm not sure if its worth that much? I'm trading him a 94 f250 4x4 turbodiesel with trans problems for his quad and a 1987 chevy 3/4ton 4x4 350 sbc. He wants 1600 for the truck and i'm asking 4500 in trade value for mine. Hows that deal sound?ur looking at what 2900 left to meet with the quad..... it gonna bring that?
