how many people have used octane booster?

Recommended Posts

well guys, my banshee runs on race gas, and race gas here in Canada is very expensive, My question is, does the little Octane Boost work to put it in premium gas to obtain a higher octane than 94? Cause i need it to obtain at least 105octane. Has anyone else used this stuff before? Any help is greatly appriciated

I wouldn't use any fuel additives. If you want to run pump gas, get some bigger domes cut, and you'll be good.

Note he said CUT. Find out what you got b/c if it is a 4mil, it is not as easy as buying bigger domes of a random website. Your going to get confused with all the different threads going.

Octane boosters lables are misleading. They say that 1 bottle added to 10-12 gallons of fuel raises octane 6-8 points. What they dont tell you is that it takes 10 points to go up 1 octane number. It would take a lot of bottles of octane booster to get to 105. Race fuel is the best octane booster. If you blended 3 gallons of 91 octane with 1 gallon of 110 octane you would have 95.75 octane fuel. Now compair how many bottles of octane booster it would take vs the price of 1 gallon of race fuel.

Change the domes and just run premium bud. You will be more than fine and happy with the way it runs. Im really leaning towards it not being a 4mill and just a ported 350. Thats what JD racing did best back in the day. Octane boosters are a joke. Dont trust them. Do like we have all said. Take the topend apart and take some measurements and some pics and see what you got. What is stamped on the rods, whats stamped on the piston, are the domes cut or just a standared dome, what size is the domes, whats the bore size, etc? Get all these questions answered and you will know exactly what you have

thanks for all the reply's guys. I am forced to sell it, since i cannot afford race fuel, and i dont want it running on premium. And plus its just a stock ported 350, and i was really looking for a 4mil or a cub. so i have decided to sell it, and i am going to rebuilt old blue to a 421 cub running on premium. I really dont want to take the top end apart, since i dont have all the tools needed. But i know for sure that its got 19cc domes in it. My dads also wants to sell it, and he said for me to rebuild old blue and make her the way i want to, but the funds are limited as well. Anyways i hate to see it go, and you may think im crazy or stupid or mental, but its my decision and my dads

Hilarious man.

But honestly you ONLY need ONE 12mm wrench for the cyl and head nuts and a Philips screw driver for the hose clamps to take the whole top end off.. <<< No joke.

1/2 hr job to take it down...... no joke.

A Cub for the trails and fire roads is a bad idea.....again no joke.

Carry on :)

haha lol, i will not run it in the trails, open areas only lol. But we have to see first, i just posted the red one, if the blue one sells first, then so be it, ill keep the red one, and put the domes in it

Dude why dont you just put some 20cc domes in it and run premium. It will cost you about $70 and 30mins of your time. Then you will have a badass fast bike. I hate seeing you make all these ridiculous decisions man. Think about it. You have a fast bike that you want and like with several hundred dollars worth of suspension under it and it looks nice. Part out the blue one and keep the motor to build your cub as money allows. Or pull the motor and sell as a complete roller. Personally I think your making a wrong decision here and not thinking it through. You have a great base there to start with and possibly a whole motor to build however you want if you go about it the right way. Then you have a spare motor on the shelf if ever needed.

KEEP THE RED ONE, CHANGE THE DOMES, RUN PREMIUM GAS. PART OUT THE BLUE ONE AND KEEP THE MOTOR TO BUILD YOUR CUB MOTOR AS YOU SELL THE PARTS OFF IT.

So how did you find out it was not a 4mil? We posted ways to check, and also what to do if you want to run premi gas. Selling it b/c it takes race gas is just too funny. If you do not learn how to work on a stock cyl shee, how will you know how to put a cub together? Also, the blue one is a turd compared to the red one. If anything, part the blue, keep the red like Alfie said.

thing is, noone is ever going to buy the parts off the blue one, especially stock ones, and we all know this as a fact. Im not going to start taking the bike apart just because two people want two things, if you know what i mean. I also hate the part about getting FUCKING lied by a stupid ass dealer, and by a guy, who the dealer said they "called" i asked for the guy's phone number they said they lost it. Fucking crumbs. That is why i prefer to build my own bike so i know exactly what it is. I was expecting a 4mil not a ported bike, cause like that i could have ported the blue one for 350 by fast racing, and put some big carbs on it

Sell the blue one, and build up the red bike into a cub. Looking through all these posts, you make Zero sense homie.
