Theyzwaffle
I just picked up a 1985 lt250r, ive never built an atv before just my dirt bikes. I know basically nothing when it comes to widening and getting better suspension. So maybe someone could point me in the right direction. Could im mount stock yfz 450 shocks or what could i do? Also where could i get longer a-arms and a longer swingarm?I want it to be wider and lower to the ground. Ill be sure to post some pictures soon. Im open to any suggestions. Theyzwaffle
elka's site says they make shocks for all years lonestar makes a swingarm in 0 +2 and +4 but for $1156 they also make an antivibe stem for $377 laeger makes nothings from the site i checked works make shocks for the 85 as well. i have not found any wider a-arms yet. but get on quadracerhq, they will know way more Just sigined up for that. There is an LT HQ, find the DR. Q guy on there. He is the master of all that is LT. Dave Roberts at ILR Performance can extend a swingarm for ya as well. prssantana
I had an 87 and tried to put a rear yfz shock on it. If i remeber right the length was close. The linkage was so different it wasnt even worth trying to fabricate something. I believe it was to wide at the mounts. Works was still making shocks for them a few years ago. You can rebuild them also.
AKheathen
lol, the weird cantaleiver setup?
toytech
the rear linkage takes a lot of stress off the rear shock, nice stuff but complicated. I would try getting ahold of one of the suzuki mx teams maybe they have older stuff lying around you could pick up cheap.
AKheathen
the point of the shock is to take the stress and manipulate it.....the stress must go somewhere, you know? not sure how it takes it off the shock, though
