Jeffyboy
Any help appreciated. My bike after winter storage wont start. Only gets a spark every 10 kicks er so. I have replaced the coil & stator & plugs with the same results. I tested the kill switch and its testing fine. Any ideas? CDI box maybe? Or is it a used one off of Ebay? You can use an ohmmeter to check both the stator and coil. If both of those check out OK then the likely problem is the CDI box, assuming you don't have any shorted or damaged wires in your harness. fastbanshee8
Try new plug boots, and good luck with the RM stator, as about everything RM, or RS is junk Chinese shit.

bansheesandrider
Try new plug boots, and good luck with the RM stator, as about everything RM, or RS is junk Chinese shit. Junk from RM Stator or Ricky Stator has been bad brand new out of the box. Edited August 3, 2010 by bansheesandrider

Checked all my wiring, could this maybe be a ground issue? im about to replace the harness and ecu anyone else have issues or a wiring diagram that I can reference for all my grounds? Thanks Did you check the stator and coil with an ohmmeter? RM Stators have been known to be bad right out of the box brand new. There is a ground wire in the harness that connects to everything but the voltage regulator. There is a ground wire where the voltage regulator bolts on,there is a ground terminal on the stator itself, the off/run switch gounds to the handlebars. Guys on here say you need to have bare metal where the coil bolts to the frame, BUT I rode mine for 5 years with the coil mounted to a rubber insulated wire harness loom clip wrapped around the frame when the mount broke off. It ran just fine that way.
