CoolHead compession

The bikes got 180psi compession.. Hadn't been inside of motor since it was bought..Don't know dome size. I'm running 93 octane, should i be running race fuel with that much compesssion. I was told by someone that i could run alky with that much compession.

With that much compression with 93 octane you could burn a hole in the top of the piston. I run race fuel and methanol with 180 psi compression. It also depends on the ignition timing also.

Do you run race fuel and meth together.? or just in the same bike.?(one tank race fuel, one tank meth,) this bike was a trail bike before turned into project dragbike aka Sleeper LOL , stock stroke stock bore non ported , just a coolhead, v3 reeds ,bills exhaust, kehin pwk's, bolt on's only. thanks for any info and advise.

He was stating that his bike can run on race gas or meth. Which ever he wants to run for that day/night

Unless you're at 5000 feet, I'd steer clear of 16cc domes. As said, you're asking for trouble.

Is your motor ported? What is your timing at? Just throwing more compression at a motor is like putting duct tape over a radiator hose and hoping it will work. Chances are you'll have more problems.

Im running 16cc domes in my cool head ive been using them for 9 years, my bike is ported hot rod crank trued and welded and my timing advanced 5 degrees im using 28 PWKs with my setup i use 116 octane in a pinch ive used 113, my bike has been thru 4 top ends over 9 years with this setup and never blew her up!. I think my compression is a little over 200lbs with a stock setup i dont advise 16cc domes even if u could get away with it wouldnt be worth spending all that money on racegas i would run at 180lb what u have and just mix 1 gallon of 113 to 3 gallons of 93 u will be fine

Also you want your compression to match what your your doing with the motor,If your stringing this thing out in the 1/8th it will pull better on the lower side of compression. Its not a fact but its what I have seen on paper with my motor in the 1/4.Timing comes into play on the big end also
