dyno cheetah hp

Hey I got my 485 cheetah dyno with less than impressive results. My setup is a pv cheetah with 38mm airstrykers c12 fuel 185psi, pt high revs. Many of you know my bike and setup and don't feel I need to list everything on my bike but if u must know look in my sig. I ran 65hp before the jetting than a 68 after. The story is long and confusing and I'm working atm so wat I need is dyno sheets and or specs of your guys bikes to verify that my 5k engine is only pushing 68hp.. seems weak to me. Thanks hq

Are you sure you got those airstrykers jettted in correctly? They are a real pain in the ass to jet properly. Even though, I would think that those numbers would be higher even with your jetting off. Is it ported at all? Are you sure your getting the correct electricity? Are you running a lockout? Those PT's are for sure holding you back.

yeah man, it's gotta be the pipes 'cause thats about what my stock stroke/cylinder bike ran w/ t5's and pump gas. im kinda suprised though because i thought pv cylinders were supposed to make one badass trail monster so i would have thought they'd actually work well with the PT's. :shrugani: . i'm definately interested in seeing how much of a difference a set of IF drag pipes would make.

I'm sure his torque curve is as flat as a table.

I think the pipes are holding back the motor.. but... not to 65hp.. That motor should be pulling atleast 80hp with those pipes all day long... Something isn't right.. Whats squish? whats compression? was the motor leak tested? Like metioned before.. PV's working properly?

 

I've seen 421 on gas make 80hp with t-5's.. Something isn't right.. though the pipes will hold it back a bit.. not to that extent. I'd like to see the graph too before I jump on the "ditch the pipes" wagon.

my alky bike is over 100hp.

 

even that listed graph with the shear's is a pretty flat tq curve. and those are top end pipes. the pv's help bring up the lower end hp on those pipes. that motor dosent peak to make the hp its a gradualy climb that just pulls and pulls.

 

something is wrong with your motor for sure. i also agree the pipes are keeping it low but i would think the correct set up would make in the 80's also. most pv 4 mill cheeta's are easily 80-95+hp on gas. and very broad power at that with most any pipe combo. drag pipes will get them in the 100's/

I see a couple of cheetah on the dyno, with many kind of pipe.

 

a 421 cheetah drag ported on alky with oof cpi as 100rwhp (dynojet dyno)

 

a 472 cheetah on gas (50/50) with inframe CPI around +/- 85rwhp

 

a 421 cheetah on gas (pump), with t5, small carb run in the 75+ area

 

I thing you need to have around 75 or more with your actual setup

 

Do you have one or two 38 carb?

Wow the responses are overwhelming lol. Ok so now that I'm home I have more time to explain the dyno run.

 

So the guy was suppose to dyno the bike, he got his bas run and then a worker I guess bumped the bleeder on the clutch (mines hydralic) and the guy was only able to do one run after and then the guy claimed the oring went and wasn't able to bleed it. Well I understand the situation because I built my bike and know how much of a pita that thing is to bleed and he was convinced even after I explained to him that the oring needed to be replaced and said he'd bet ten bones on it.

 

I'm not bashing this guy but let's me say this, he owes my ten bucks. And I've contacted him again and we agreed to work together and get the jetting worked out, seeing as his employes and himself can't read a manual for my bike. Not the most professional people I've ever delt with but he does have a dyno. One thing that was mention was the pv springs being to stiff. Idk trinty I guess said that to him, but he and I said that sounds rediculous. Ill report back as soon as I get some results
