jeramie
so i was riding my bike yesterday and it all of a sudden lost power. the rings are probably just fried but i've never owned a shee before and was wondering if it might be anything else. how much compression should each cylinder have and is it very difficult to replace the top end on these bikes? fastbanshee8
A top end rebuild is pretty easy, but you'll have to take the cylinders to a machine shop, to have them checked out, before you order your pistons, and rings. Once you have the pistons, they can bore, and hone the cylinders. If your compression is 100, or less, it's definately time to rebuild, or if one cylinder is 5 lbs off from the other one, it's rebuild time. jeramie
yea, ran a compression test on it and it had 60 psi in one and wouldnt show anything on the other cylinder.
AKheathen
oh, yah, sounds like you probably melted her down. look for signs of airleaks, or pluged up carbs/fuel screen
jeramie
yea theres a fatty hole in the top of my brake side piston and it looks melted. but the other piston is just fine and dandy. what do you think might of caused this.

Lean condition is my guess. Like AK sais, look for signs of an air leak on that side. Intake boots, carb came out of the boot ect.
fastbanshee8
Now would be a great time to get some porting done. Replace all of your top end gaskets, and do a leak down test, before you start it up.
