When I change lights, trail tech makes some four inch hids that will go right in the stock location with little fab work. That's what I'm going with. They are bright as hell and only pull 30 watts apiece. I think that they would be a good looking substitute.

You will still have to do a DC conversion and with 30 watt HIDs you may need to have a battery to have enough power to get them to fire off. X2. They only may Draw 30watts, but to start up they use about 10-12 amps.
prssantana
Snop how nuch did it cost you to make that set up?
Snopczynski
For the bracket and the light? Or for the bracket, light, the reg/rec, DC conversion, added wiring, the battery, and the battery mount?
prssantana
If you can remember individual prices that would be better. The reason Im asking is I have a bad eye and so I would like to get as much light as possible for night time riding. Plus I kind of like how it looks? Also can you set it up to charge the battery or do you have to charge it yourself?
Snopczynski
Well I sell the light, it would cost you about $400.00 The Battery was around $55.00 The reg/rec was around $75.00 I did the dc conversion myself. I built the battery box, and wired everything myself. I built the mount for the light myself also.
prssantana
Did you use a triple diode setup like a car uses? Where did the light come from? I looked at the company website and didn't see them. I might have just missed i guess. i like the setup.
Snopczynski
I use a reg/rec out of a snowmobile, I get them from a company in Wisconsin. The light is a vision X setup that I get directly from Vision. A friend of mine owns Vision X.
prssantana
Nice. Thanks for the info. As soon as my rebuild and a few things are done ill probably do this or something similar. Btw where all do you ride locally over there? We have several places on this side but only a few really good spots and barely anything for trails. Mostly just those gay ass green dot roads.
