Kick starter on fresh rebuild

Recommended Posts

Hey, new guy here, just did a fresh rebuild on my first banshee, pretty simple (thanks to this forum).... just have one question.

My kick starter does not want to come all the way back up, almost like the spring it not strong enough? It comes back up half way and just stops there. When you install the kick starter assembly do you have to preload the spring? Or did I install it incorrectly?

Any help would be great!

There is a notch in the case for the spring, and of course the pin at the top for the spring to wrap around. If those 2 are correct, then gear will follow. Note that there is a tab on the gear; I don't think it'll let you you install it wrong. It's most likely that you didn't preload the spring. You gotta take it around once, then hook it on the pin.

Wanted to fill you guys in, I took out the kick starter assembly over the weekend, I had the end of the spring that goes through the kick starter shaft in the wrong hole. Once I moved it 180 degrees and put it back together it works great!! Thanks for your guys help!!
