stEvEoPeN12
Hey guys Im new to this site, actually pretty new to banshees too! I just bought an 08 in Canada and I love it. When I bought the bike buddy had fmf fatty gold series pipes with powercore 2 silencers. nothin else was done not even the lid off the airbox. I pulled the jets to see what they were and they were the stock jets 200main 25 pilot 2,0 needle thrid notch down. My question is I was expecting to see about a 280main being that there was pipes on it. The bike actually ran very good the way it was set up idle screw 2 turns I forgot to mention. My elavation here in Alberta Canada is about 2600ft octance 91 with yamalube 32 to 1 anyways I just want to get a base line to go off of for these mods FmF fattys with powercore2 silencers 8 no lid on filter box 0-2 k&n air filter 4-5 boost bottle 0 I figure I should try a 340 main. what do you guys think? what about the pilot and the needle height? also I want to get new reed valves but dont know what to get, I dont want to start feeding it jet fuel I know that much

A 340 will be too much IMO. Do a plug chop after you try that jetting. My suggestion would be to buy jets ranging from a 290-340 and start with the 300 and change from there if needed.. To give you an idea, I have more mods on my motor than yours and I'm at a 320 main at 5,000 feet. On the reeds, I personally run V-Force 3's with my set up. Good Luck! fastbanshee8
You should change the pilots to 27.5's, since the aftermarket exhausts run better with them. FMF's in particular.

Thanks guys for the replys! and yeah I was going of the Banshee FAQ's. Like I said I am new to Banshee so all a guy can do is research, learn trail and error. Im still waitng for the K&N and boost bottle to come in. I know 4-5 up for a k&n I shoke my head too. So this is what I tryed: Filter lid off even with the 200 mains in there made a big difference but was boggish. So I tryed the 300main ( I know this was a huge jump on the main, I bought 300-350 for the pats that havent come in yet. So if the FAQ's are close in a ball park this is the main I should have been running with the pipes and no lid . started at 1.5 turns out. It ran better a little boggish, still could have been better in 1/4-3/4 throttle. the plugs looked fine light light brown but it was running hotter, then when it warmed up hotter than usual, it stalled a couple times... It would fire back up but as soon as I gave it throttle it would bog out and want to stall. then I went back to my Default settings with the lid on and the 200 main. I was goin to try needle height with the 300mains and maybe a size bigger on the pilot to see if that is anybetter until the other parts come in
madjimmax
You definitely need a 27.5 pilot for any aftermarket pipes do not leave them stock and as far as mains 300 is probably a good place to start then do a plug chop. And just to let you know a shee will run really good on a lean condition until it finally melts down.Oh and welcome to the HQ:cheers:
