i just want to know like a stock banshee what are the max rpm of a totally stock banshee and then one with just pipes

Piston speed dictates maximum RPM, maximum safe RPM is 4000 feet per minute, absolute max is 5000 feet per minute. Fuel,Air/fuel ratio, compression, exhaust port duration, tuned expansion chamber length, baffle angle and stinger back pressure will dictate what peaking Rpm you actually get from your motor, just as Andy said lots of variables. Lonnie at Sandtrax's said stock ignitions seem to start dropping cylinders at a certain RPM. I would like to know if anybody has experienced this and at what RPM.

a bike will make power up to a certain rpm thats useable power or "powerband" then they will usually start to fall off OR overrev some bikes can overrev for a very long time they wont make anymore hp and can loose some but you can let them hang out for a lil while or tip out a top gear if it can pull it. i have heard that the old tz's would pull power up to around 12,000 and if you shut the pv's off they would overrev to the 18,000 rpm range !!

stocker's i think are around 8500-9000 tops and modded can go as high as 13,000+ in hp. but rpm stands for: Ruins Peoples Motors

i dont think the stock CDI has a rev limit it may have a electrical limit that is it just cannot process past say 13,500? i know i have reved my stockers into 11,000 on the dyno's under power. never checked my lil 350 but it also had a dyna and nology set up, it did feel like it just would never stop revving.. ( with shear pipes)

(9000 Rpm)

With a 54 stroke its 3189 FPM,58 stroke-3425 FPM,61 stroke-3602 FPM,64 stroke-3780 FPM,68 stroke-4016 FPM. All are safe RPMs. 11300 RPM is 4004 FPM on a stock stroke engine and 14100 RPM is 4996 FPM on a stock stroke. As you can see bigger strokes will raise the piston speed. You would need to have some kind of road racing pipe and porting to get anywhere near redline.
