kodie
I'm pretty sure once you go with a 7mil you have to trench the case. If that being true might as well go 10 mil crank. I'm pretty sure the cranks cost the same.

dajogejr
There are only two reasons I would buy a 7 mil setup vs. a 10 mil setup. 1. Price...you found the steal of a lifetime or 2. To compete in a certain cc class where 7 is under or at the limit and 10 would be above. We're only talking about 22ccs of displacement (I'm pretty sure a 7 mil, 68 bore cub is 443cc vs 465 for a 10 mil) Go 10. The price on everything is identical, as well as the machine work for the cases. No one is going to charge you extra for having to dig an extra 1.5mm or so on the case. 4 is a great little motor, but especially if you're a big guy, a 10 gets up out of the hole a little easier, is more forgiving than a 4 and it has more legs upstairs. Does this help?

J-Madd
I have a friend that would like to sell his 7 mil Cub to fund his 4 mil DM project. He runs 3.7s in 300 ft all day long. Lightweight rider, though. Cylinders are drag ported and the exterior is polished. Not sure if he's wanting to sell the complete motor or just the topend and cases. If interested let me now and I'll ask him. I would put that 7 mil Cub up against most any 10 mil Cub out there. BTW, it was ported by a guy that has run multiple 3.71s on a 397 Cub. To answer your question though , I would say in most cases added stroke will be the route to go vs bigger bore,.
