Koolguyson
I think the '88 250r is probably the '69 camaro of the 2 stroke world not to mention the atv world, it has a more classic and limited population than the banshee making it more of a collectors item. Perfect analogy. I would compare the banshee to a mustang if anything.
GrayRaptor734r
Antother good one. The mustang just keeps on going, it's the muscle car that you just can't seem to get rid of.

fastbanshee8
Somebody needs to kick it's ass to the curb then, so we don't have to listen to all the BS.

I have friends with 6 TRX's, and 4 ATC's. theres only 5 others with shees in my group.

GrayRaptor734r
The remark wasn't in reference to them still being around, They had a shorter production period and you can reference one year that would be the most desireable like you can with camaro. Banshees have just had a longer run of production and have never not been produced since their inception like the mustang.

I'm not near any legendary dunes, that doesn't mean there's a lack of quads and damn sure doesnt mean the 450 is ending the banshee and 250R. both the legendary 2strokes are very much loved around my parts(theres many 4pokes too )
06specialedition
I sold my 2005 YFZ 450 for a banshee and couldn't be happier. I still see some old school 80's banshee's running around the dunes... These quads will never fade away.
Michael Jackson
i very very rarely see a 250r, and unfortunately when i do, they usually look and sound like shit, its a shame on the other hand, i see as many, or more banshees than anything, big mix of raptor 660/700 and 450's, but compared to one other single quad, like a yfz, or a raptor in particular, i still think i see more banshees than any 1 particular 4 stroke, with raptor 700's and yfz 450's coming in a close 2nd, but overall, of course more 4 strokes than banshees or any 2 stroke quad. thats having not been sold new for a couple years now
bansheenyc77
Thank you all for the kind help and wonderful replies. I think some mistook my original question, or i should have worded it differently. I originally posted out of the frustration i expereinced when i visited the only bike shop in the area and wanted to see if others had similair experiences. I just felt as if they didnt want to deal with a product they stopped making/selling, and wanted to push a new model on me. Thank god for the internet.. Imagine just 15-20 years ago, we really would have been screwed. When I sold my Raptor and was looking for a Banshee, i knew i wanted a 2006 since it was the last year they made it in the states. I agreee with the post which mentions that the Banshee will probably go up in value and demand since its final edition here in the US. Im not having any problems finding parts online and am waiting on my T6's to arrive (Friday). I like to have my toys in perfect condition, so theres a few things i have already ordered online to replace ont he bike. Im in love with my new bike and was just getting a little worried that in a few years itlle be hard to come by parts, or youll have to buy used from others. Glad i posted, since you guys brought out some interesting points. Thanks again, Al
camatv
banshee's will never die all it takes is for new owners to figure out stuff like this site, and find a good shop to deal with ( easily found through this site) why are you guys bashing the dude with the raptor? ( fastban8, MJ?) though you two were spokesmen for bansheehq. if a rappy owner wants to sell his rappy and buy a banshee but get this kinda crap from you 2 hmm. i know i got some shit already but dang talk about hypocrisy banshee will never die i would like to figure out how many were sold inthe usa. it sucks what yamaha did with them just get them started and used them to make $$$$ never updating them and in all reality holding them back quite a bit. if there was a set of gytr pipes for a banshee i'd love to have them!!! i have a gytr front bumper for mine!! never seen another one. they are coming back because 450 owners are realizing what piles those 4 pokes really are. i am seeing more and more yfz with nuked motors being sold and banshee's being bought and brought back to life. its a great time !!! dmfisher71
as far as shops are concerned i would say it is somewhat regional. anywhere near the dunes im sure the shops will be more banhsee friendly. but here in central IN the local dealerships arent good for much banshee related. there are 3 shops within 7 miles of my house and i cant go buy a bottle of klotz super techniplate from any of them. went to the honda shop tonight and the only decent 2 stroke they had was castor 927 for almost 20 bucks a bottle. and as far as actual parts that are made for a banshee you may as well forget it. i dont have a problem ordering from online sources but sometimes it would be nice to be able to go grab a clutch cable or something like that without having to wait 3-6 days. i am in southern indiana and i go almost 30 minutes to get to a local NON dealer shop (i hate the yamaha shop locally 15 mintes away) the owner of the shop i go to is a HUGE banshee fan and we looked through 2 dealer books and there is some stuff that is starting to get WAY to expensive for a banshee and youcan get a ton cheaper online, and even dennis kirk dont carry much for a banshee either. i dont think that the banshee persay is a dying breed or that the 2-strokes are a dying breed its that wonderful government that runs this great country that is killing the banshee and 2-strokes. and manufacturers, i think, are getting "special benefits" for going to all 4 strokes, personally i would not own any of the new EFI quads there is no reason that a quad has to be nearly $8,000 and above off the showroom floor i remember when i bought my first quad (a yamaha warrior aka the lead sled) for $4,900 NEW that is one reason why i am a big fan of KTM, the only company, that i know of i may be wrong, that still is producing a great 2 stroke powerplant in their bikes. the new 4 strokes are just an example that american are overcome with the obsession of "shiny stuff" and they are able to make the bike cheaper and sell it for more thats why you didnt see honda yamaha ect. ect. filing bankruptcy last year in the so called resession that was just an excuse for the government to fuck us over, showing that they can do whatever in the hell they want and its no skin off their back. so all in all i dont think the banshee or 2 strokes are a dying breed they are being murdered and killed off one by one and yes i do think that, not just banshee parts, ALL 2 stroke parts will be hard to find in 10 years you may not even be able to go buy a wiseco pro lite for a banshee or a 250r or ANYTHING. me i LOVE 2 strokes let them live on..... i will own one even when you can get parts when it is an antique
