Driggs
I can't get my VF3's to seal. I'm loosing lots of air on my leak down test. I had the VF3 gasket, then put a stock gasket on the other side and it helped but still leaking. I saw where someone said to run 4 gaskets. What's up with that and will that stop the leak and if not, what do you suggest? Also, it doesn’t look like the stock gaskets fit the VF3's intake manifold side so is that a special order? SD1026
Run gaskets and sealer. You just need a small bead around both sides of the gasket wait a little bit for it to set like a couple hrs or over night then test it out.

pr0blumz
So you don't run any paper gasket? Just the silicone? No, I did not use gaskets. I let it cure for 24 hrs. Edited May 24, 2010 by pr0blumz

Jereme6655
i run the seals that come with the reeds along with using gasket sealer......the copper spray on crap made by permatex.....works great as far as im concerned..
dirtydownunder
make shaw both surface's are clean and smooth, the gaskets should be all you need, tho i use a tiny bit of sealant (Permatex number3). and yes, gasket for each side of the reed. VegasJeff
I use the gaskets and a thin layer of the yamabond sealer for the casses.
someone82
I've used both Permatex Black and Permatex motoseal on the reed cages before with no leaks before (no gaskets). Just be sure you let it cure before overnight before you run the motor.
Ieat4strokes
Lol. You use a gasket on each side of the reed, and yamabond, super grey etc etc. I've never had a problem just always have used that combo.
