Got My Banshee!

Recommended Posts

I got my 2000 Banshee a couple of weeks ago! It is pretty clean and bone stock. The previous owner had let is set for a few years but it starts and run strong. It's a bit flat and sputters on the bottom but the power band comes alive hard in the midrange. I haven't run it out fully to get a feel for the top end. Hopefully a tune up will cure the bottom end sputtering.

It has a little over a 100lbs of compression in both cylinders. (Thats pretty good isn't it?) It needs a few things and after taking an inventory, here is a list of the things I plan to do in the order I plan to do them. I'd appreciate any input on revising the list if necessary:

1. Manual (ordered today)

2. plugs, fluids change, carb cleaning/sync, overall cleaning and degreasing (any suggestions for a good degreaser?)

3. lower chain roller (missing)

4. fender braces (missing. Are the aftermarket ones on ebay any good?)

5. TORS eliminator kit

6. timing plate

7. stainless bolt kit (it's got several missing bolts...mostly for plastic)

8. new front tires

9. exhaust (the exhaust hangers for the factory pipes appear to have come apart and both pipes are loose)

10. Reeds/cage

11. cool head

12. rt headlamp (missing)

hell yeah, looks like a nice bike man!!ur list looks good, the compression is good for a stocker and yes sync the carbs.if that dont help bottom end, adjust pilot air screw in 1/4 turn at a time till its gone.u might have to up the pilot but serously doubt it for stock pipes.
