Driggs
I'm trying to install my Direct Drive Lockout with a Wiseco Pressure Plate but as you can see from the pics, it's not fitting like it did on the stock pressure plate. It's mushrooming the lockout. Any ideas?
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Saw a similar post on PS about the same problem with the Hinson pressure plate and a lock-up. The solution was to just run the stock pressure plate.

blowit
Great. That's not what I wanted to hear. I emailed Direct Drive and I'll see what they say. Thanks Windy. I have not run into that but looks like some minor mods (grinding) on the lockout will fix the problem. Obivously the locking ring cannot make contact with the pressure plate or you will have problems.

I want to run the Wiseco pressure plate since I just bought it so I'll get the grinder out.
wesw
i had this problem a yr or 2 back with my hinson basket. i called direct drive and they acted dumb founded then like a month later they claimed on their site they made a lockout to fit. now i never checked up the site since then but you might get with d.d. i took a dremel to my lockout and its a real pain in the ass to grind and fit and grind its way easier to get a new lockout that fits or run stock pp
dajogejr
Possible to throw a few washers under the pressure plate to give it some room? To get clearance for my slingshot type lockout (yeah, I know...different style, same issue) I put washers under the 6 bolts that hold it on... jbooker82
Or take it appart and chuck the body in a lathe and take a little bit off.
camatv
it needs to clear the locker completely i would just use the stocker.. BUT? its not a wiseco basket also is it???? they have a MAJOR issue!!!
Driggs
I'm running the complete Wiseco clutch setup..pressure plate, basket, and inner hub. This is what DD replied back with "it looks like the holes in that pressure plate are to small of diameter- when we designed the lockouts, they are made to work with the factory plates- why they made it so small- not really sure , guys have ran other pressure plates with the lockouts and have not had an issue." I'd like to stick with the wiseco pressure plate but looks like it'll be easier to go back to the stock pressure plate.

Driggs
So I took the air grinder to it today and shaped up the lockout. Piece of cake with the air grinder. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.
camatv
the lil itty bitty screws that hold the backing plate on are WAYYY TO SMALL i guarantee they will break off and you will throw you plate and all the cusions out. you need to mod the backing plate and tap out the basket to larger screw's. i have pictures of this happening on a 5 hour old basket on a 421 stocker that made 80 hp.. this is a MAJOR issue and really needs to be addressed before you run it!!!
