crazyj789
Hello all I was looking into possibly getting a lightened flywheel. Does this actually make a difference? I have extra money and all mods done porting, pipes, carbs, etc so everything is done just wondering about this. Does it make the engine rev faster? Improve anything or is it a waste of time? jbooker82
I didnt like mine. It also makes it easier to bog / fall off the pipe. If your a light weigh guy it is ok but if your a larger guy stick with the stock flywheel. It launches better with a standard flywheel. firebanshee
Hello all I was looking into possibly getting a lightened flywheel. Does this actually make a difference? I have extra money and all mods done porting, pipes, carbs, etc so everything is done just wondering about this. Does it make the engine rev faster? Improve anything or is it a waste of time? I run a standard weight flywheel on my drag bike and my dune bikes,I am a bigger guy and it helps me on my launch and also helps keep the motor from falling out of the pipe as easy. Also i think on my set up it helps me hook up better.I have ran lightend flywheels and on my setups the stock flywheel works better for me.So it depends on your set up,i have seen lightend flywheels work for other people and yes it will let your motor rev quicker. Remember a 300ft drag race is usually won or lost in the first 60 feet.

madjimmax
You didnt mention a cool head. If you dont have one I think your money would be better off spent on a cool head instead of a lighter flywheel IMO.
RagunCajun
How does a cooling head compare to a lightened flywheel?
