camatv Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 ok i bought a bike with the 9 plate nmotion/ wiseco clutch set up in it. i rode it one time and its was sapposed to have 1 other ride on it on the new clutch set up ( i do believe that!) it stoped shifting and i took the cover off to kinda see what was happening the backing plate had blown off and the cusions were scatterd all over the inside of the motor. ( YIKES!) now i am not new to blowing backing plates off. but NOT with the stock spring steel backing plates!! this is a 80hp bike with a lot of tq so no big deal. NOW i noticed that wiseco is reusing the stock backing plate, GREAT!! BUT they are bolting it on with teeny tiny lil ity bitty weenie ass POS bolts!!! what the hell!! i almost couldnt even see them in the debris!!! i have now fixed the backing plate/ basket with 8mm/1.25 bolts and after pulling the motor and splitting it will install a new clutch basket.. SOOOO IF YOU HAVE A wiseco basket REMOVE IT NOW and install / mod the backing plate and basket to use the larger bolts IF YOU R bike makes ANY power i bet the backing plate has snapped those lil bitty teeny time shit ass designe'd bolt's heads off and your plate is eating away at your cases..
