Thewhite Posted May 10, 2010 Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 Gentlemen, I tried to install my Paul tuner high rev pipe on my new RZ set-up, but I got no success. The pipe fit on the exhaust spigot, the hanger, but the end of the pipe is about 1 inche lower that the silencer beginning. Does someone else have experience that kind of problem. Now, I'm asking if the pipe are welded as per specfifiacation or something goes bad during the assembly or the RZ cylinder don't have the same geometry. The only way to make them fit will be to cut the tube after the tune pipe and reweld it once the front pipe and the silencer will be align. It may required to bend the tube. Second problem, the LH pipe don't allow enought space to fit the powervalve housing. This can be solve if I modify the tube from the tune pipe since it don't fit correctly. Any advise or experience will help. To reweld the tube and the tune-pipe, do you recommend TIG weld since the pipe is made form 20 ga steel or MIG weld is acceptable. thanks in advance, Martin Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

NickisGod Posted May 10, 2010 Report Share Posted May 10, 2010 (edited) I remember reading someplace rz bikes can only fit 2 aftermarket banshee pipes and paul turners were one of them so I thought. They clear cheetah pvs just fine but my lh pipe if deffintly differnt because it hits my carb, or maybe thats motor spacing, idk. I've had 3 or 4 sets of PT's and they all fit fine.. The Frame is OK, not bent. I was able to mount my T5 with those cylinder and they fit perfectly. Do your pipes have slip joints at the cyl like normal banshee pipes? Sorry just wondering. Could a person run the bolt on flanges off of a blaster and use all slip on pipes and have a wider variety? Right now, the pipe are install on the cylinder spigot with a spring and hook to the frame mounting point. The pipe have slip joint, like nornmal pipe. The end of the pipe is about 1 inch lower that silencer beginning and it don't allow enought space to add the PV housing. I will take picture this evening. It has something to do with the cold metal and the butter combining and changing the molecular structure thus shrinking the pipe inwards a little making it easier to install. Once it warms up the pipe goes back to normal shape though so work quick. Try to use non-hydrogenated butter as well. So by freezing the pipe and coating them with butter will help ??
