theshee Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 Had the same problem a couple years ago with an alloy kit, was my fault for not using the anti seize. If you dont use anti seize they will not work worth shit, last time I used the anti and they worked fine. Quote

Yes, antiseize is an absolute must for stainless hardware, when using stainless bolts and lock nuts together. When I just use stainless bolts into steel, I use locktite. I have only ever had issues with stainless bolts into stainless nuts, when not using antiseize. I purchased one of those Alloy Boltz kits, and had no issues with it. The only thing was that I wished it came with rear carrier bolts. Other than that, no issues. I do remember them being a pain in the ass to deal with, and it took them forever to ship it. Quote
alf44 Posted May 5, 2010 Author Report Posted May 5, 2010 Well now there calling me a liar and still telling me to bad. I could post the emails but im not going to go there. Trust me on this on though guys, this company is extremely rude and is only out to get your money. I admitted i made a mistake and didnt use anti seize but I did use loctight on the ones that went into the frame and they still broke. They said mabey if I handled it different the outcome would have been better. Dont now how I could have. I called, left message, called again the next day and was immediatly told I was wrong, stupid, and im just like all the others that call that dont read and follow directions. Nice Huh??? ALLOYBOLTZ.COM VERY RUDE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS WHAT SO EVER!!! Quote
sangheraent Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 i bought this kit for my 250r build and it was missing alot of bolts. foot pegs, seat latch, brake lever, a couple other things pissed me off. I used all oem engine bolts though. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 When I needed to buy 4 kits over three years ago, I hit up Alloy Boltz and Fastener Guy on Ebay. Alloy Bolts treated me like shit. Fastener guy not only gave me a little break on the kits, he gave me a break on shipping and upgraded the shipping from ground to 2 day...and was more than helpful. As said 100X...the antiseize if your fault Alf. But customer service on alloyboltz is/was awful when I needed kits a few years ago. I'll add one more thing, if you powder coat your frame, run a tap through every hole, I don't care if it was taped off and properly masked. I've broken off a bolt in a freshly PC'd frame despite using antiseize. Others have also said the bolts/nuts are not strong enough for the cases....mine's been fine for years. No case sealing issues.... The kits do not come with the swingarm pivot bolt (way to exhorbant on cost) the foot peg bolts or the upper J Arm bolts. Quote
LostcauseZ06 Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 im sorry alf but it sounds like you were an asshole about this whole deal. it says in BOLD LETTERS on EVERYTHING to use anti seize. I dont blame them for not replacing your bolts after you came on here and bashed them as well. i purchased 2 kits about a month ago. i used anti seize on every bolt and i have had ZERO problems. Their customer service was AWESOME when i asked when things would be shipped out and such. they were very nice to me and i would purchase again from them no question about it. 1 thing i didnt like though... the bolt for the handlebar clamp is incorrect.. the stock one is the bolt with basically a nut on the end of it for the radiator mount to screw into... the alloybolts kit is just a regular hex bolt so you cannot put in the top mount on the radiator The stock fastener is definitely a one off kinda bolt so i understand why they dont provide it. The issue is their customer service. I used blue loctite to assembly all nylon insert nuts and still broke three of them because they cold welded. When I called Alloy Boltz to get replacements they treated me like an idiot and pretty much said take a hike. A business is built on customer service and Alloy Boltz has none. Quote

tundish2800 Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I have a kit from them and have not had any problems.I have had the kit for 3 years now and everything works just fine. How hard were you torquing the bolts? It has to take alot of force to snap a bolt. I have used an impact on a few of there bolts with no problems. Quote
SD1026 Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 i have used this kit w/o antiseize and with locktite no problems what so ever. didnt even know i was supposed to use antiseize. also never broke a bolt. Quote
