Thanks kinda depends on what you want stock for stock and what your going to do hands down the yfz 450 is faster and proby is all the way around a better quad so i would go with the yfz and the new fuel in jected ones are pretty dam fast out of the box Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They are pretty much race ready out of the box. That being said, is that something you want your wife riding? Maybe a little 350 raptor would be better, and it has reverse. Doddy Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 It depends. The TRX is actually faster out the box with the HRC kit which is a factory option. The YFZ feels a little more like a race quad in my opinion, on the TRX I feel like I'm sitting up a little higher on the bike than on the YFZ. The TRX's are nice but I really like the YFZ a little better. And if you are anything like me you wants to get a 450 "for the wife". I'm probably going to end up getting a YFZ 450 "for the girlfriend" so that I have both. They are both excellent quads so my suggestion is try and ride both and see which one you like better. Scotty Posted April 30, 2010 Report Share Posted April 30, 2010 I had an 07 YFZ and it walked all of my 2 buddies with 450r's with HRC kits all day. As far as a wife quad, if your wife is smaller i would go for the new Raptor 250. I bought my wife an 08 and she loves it, in trails the thing keeps up with 450's with alittle work. When i mess around on it i love it too, They come from the factory at 300 lbs and you can do anything on that thing. I also rode the new YFZ 450r with FI and was not impressed at all, had more top end, but the notice in lack of torque compared to the Carb. models was horrible. By up there are you referring to seat height? If so, you might be the first person ever to claim the YFZ feels higher than the 450r. Usually what i hear is the exact opposite. I want to buy an used one 05-up and i want the 450 because I know that my wife going to use it a few months and then will be park in the garage and I think at the time to sell it the 450 ATV will more easy to sell than the little ones. luigi Posted May 1, 2010 Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 This will surely spark some controversy but I have a Trx450r , Banshee, and a Predator. The wife loves the predator. Its not quite as fast as the other two but has electric start, reverse, nice suspension and plenty of power for her. It is much more trail friendly than the other two. They are fine for trails but have to be ridden much more aggressively. You can get a killer deal on a used Predator if you look around. dmfisher71 Posted May 1, 2010 Report Share Posted May 1, 2010 i would say i like the yfz better again the trx feels like you are sitting on a mountain (kinda like a 660 raptor) and the new hondas are just freakin ugly i think. but again it just me i would stay as far away as possible from the fuel injected quads all i can see is trouble and alot of $$$$$$$$$ and carbs are so much easier to work on. and another one i like much much more that the trx or yfz 450 is the suzuki LTR 450 they are stock alot wider the either trx or yfz and i thkn it handles alot better because of it. just thowin that one in there too. post pics of the purchase when made. They are not as fast as the 450's but they have reverse, super easy to steer, a low 1st gear(easier starting / taking off) and have a big comfy seat. If your truly buying an atv for your wife and not a second one for you then you should deffinatly look at these two machines. Big bore atv's are also nice because they can leave them in 2nd or 3rd all day long and not have to do to much shifting. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It had a 440 big bore kit and PEP triple rate shocks, +4 axle, and all the basic little upgrades. I'll cut to the chase...Buy her a nice white tank top, some tight jeans, and a BANSHEE! NOTHING is hotter than a chic riding a Banshee. Once she figures that out she'll be a Banshee addict like my wife. LOL. The 440EX wasn't fast enough...Hope her new 370 long rod dune ported motor will satisfiy her need for speed. Either way....the tank top looks great.
