billet shift forks.. would you?

yea,id have to agree. if you want better performance to help minimize isssues with bend breaking get them cryo treated,and ISF along with back cutting the gears, its a big difference and well worth it. not to mention billet is always stronger

Well, I'm no drag racer, but I run on the ice and going through the gears on a high hp bike with almost 500 kold kutters, certainly roots out the weaker parts. Last season i ran a milder motor and upon tear down i noticed a little warp in the forks that was causing rugged shifting. Upon switching to a 4 mill and upgrading a few other parts i found that it was time to toughen parts up wih out buying 5 grand worth of billit parts. A phone call to 300 below and $350 later, my entire motor was CRYO TREATED & man was it worth it. Already beat this thing on pavement for hours and the internals are MINT! Now, if I had the cash my low end would be billit every thing from tranny out to cases, but then again some one with the cash to run those parts problably has the dinero for the top end and crank to build enough power to necessitate those parts.

Another thing to think about is what will break in the tranny if you put in billet forks. The stock ones seem to be the weak link, bending and what not so when you replace the weak link something else is going to break.

Okbeast, i see what you're gettin at. Like in a high hp drag car that keeps blowing junk u-joints apart. Then once you find a u-joint to hold up and then you break an input shaft instead. But the thing with these motors, there are so few parts in them that aside from the forks, there isn't much else to go wrong with out building or assembley error. Maybe the second gear set, but not till the hook up is violent and the clutching is wreckless.
