Is there a difference? I want the longrod crank and do not know which one (part number) to order. I do not want the stroker crank. Tell me if this is correct........hotrods makes a stroker crank with a stock length rod and they also make one with a stock stroke but longer rod correct??? All I want is a longrod crank lol!!! Ive got a great setup for unported cylinders or ported. Alfie, my cylinders are ported yes. They are getting the exhaust ports raised just a hair and then they'll be done. The portjob is closet to a real aggressive dune port, not quite a drag port. I do not want Wiseco's cuz I heard and its just heresay, but I heard they are outsourcing a lot of their work to china and overseas. I also heard their quality is slipping. My friend just put a stroker wiseco crank in his banshee and wiseco pistons and it basically grenaded itself. The crank was rubbing all on the cases and shit and if Im this far, im not cutting any corners to save $50 or anything. Im buying all new stuff and will spend the money to get the best. But the pistons are still made by Wiseco, so the only thing left to worry about is the machine work. I don't know what problems people have been having with Wiseco's, but this is the first thread on here that I've saw, where it was mentioned. To me, this just sounds like a few people trying to bash the top selling piston, but maybe not. Supposedly, what are the problems with Wiseco's? mopar1rules Posted April 18, 2010 Report Share Posted April 18, 2010 the problem w/the wiseco pistons, is that the skirts/piston walls are soo thin, that they don't hold up. they distort and collapse over time, while a pro-x cast piston and oem cast piston, hold up much better. and i can run a tighter piston/cylinder clearance w/the cast pistons. i love the cast pistons, and have never had any issue. i can't say the same for the wisecos. a buddy of mine ran a wiseco china made crank in his '08 yz250 and the rod snapped, wrecking his cases, cylinder, and v-force reed cage. very expensive rebuild. i hate wiseco stuff. quality is slipping. their wristpins, circlips and i believe rings, are now made in taiwan and china. the piston itself is still made in the states tho. fastbanshee8 Posted April 18, 2010 Report Share Posted April 18, 2010 I have heard of a lot of the cast pistons breaking skirts, so this isn't uncommon at all, but if you were to do a poll on this site, I'm guessing that Wiseco pistons would be the favorite by a 4:1 margin, or maybe even more.
