doug
Howdy - <sigh> I've gt low compression on one side of a 421 cub. (150PSI on the left, 105PSI on the right)</sigh> I'm going to take it apart, but was wondering if it is possible that it could be rings? (kinda hoping here...) If rings aren't likely responsible for about a 50psi drop, what are my options? Replate? Purchase new jugs and a top-end? Estimated costs and recommended place to buy would be appreciated. Thanks! okbeast
Depending on what caused it to happen, i.e. what you were doing when it happened it is probably rings. Nikasil is hard as can be, it'd take alot to score it. If it does need re-plated I've heard anywhere from 150-200 per hole for that, but not sure if that's accurate. RadarRacing
If its just got a lotta rides on it it may just be rings. As far as if you need pistons or rings, Andy at M&M atv is a site sponsor and has em. Replating is a few hundred and Millennium Technologies is who I've had do mine. Andy may be able to hook you up and the replating.
