I dunno my buddy got a trailtech with a speedometer on his trx450 and he tops out at 75.2mph in 5th pinned and i pass him by at least 5mph in 6th pinned on my shee that's got t5's pods and vf2 reeds. also .40 over if that even makes a difference.

also 13/41 gearing forgot to mention that.

This thread is awesome. Just keeps getting better and better :rotflmao:. My buddy put one of those Trail techs on his Raptor 700 last year and i can say that even with it dialed in perfect with tire size, rpms, just everything it still ends up shy of the truth. I know for a fact you are not doing 80mph with 13/41. I don't want to get into this again but how is it your doing 80 with T5s, pods, and vforce reeds and my buddy can only grab 80 with 15/41 gearing T5s, lid off k&n with proflow adapter? Ive tailed him in 2 vehicles my 01 Galant and my buddies 03 Ranger which rev limits at 90 so its pretty dam accurate.

When my cousins banchee was stock with just a fmf pipe I clocked him at 77 on my uncles radar gun. With 15/41 jetting

Then we put the gearing at 17/41 and lost 8 mph...

So then he bored it .040 over to really get the power up and he pulled that 17/41 no problem...

We clocked him at 98 mph so pretty much if you're stock to about .030 over you can't get it up past about 84 or 86 but .040 over is my sweet spot at least with 17/41.

My friend got his banchee "hot dune" ported and polished but he is only at like .010 over so ita only loike a 360 my cousins at 390 cc so I doubt my friend stqands a chance we'll see tho lol

Boring it .040 over does not make it a 390cc motor. .040 over is 65mm pistons plug that with stock stroke into this calculator your buddy is only putting up 358cc's

Lets not forget about the Wind CD (coefficient of drag in the wind).

Is this with the fenders on or off? IIRC, fenders want to fall off about 110MPH!!! :headbang:

Skinny tires pumped to the max, balanced, no fenders, nose cose, etc. All this can be worked out with math people!!

It is just power verses drag. Pretty easy to discover a final gearing selection that will enable a bike to hit the "magic" number but then the drag comes in. I am sure there are plenty of street bike riders here that know how easy is is to tag 120MPH but pushing to say 140MPH gets A LOT harder than say pushing from 100 to 120. That is some serious air pressure. ATVs simply are NOT aerodynamic.

First of all I would like to say hello to everyone... and thank whoever put this site together. :notworthy: Being releativly new to Banshees this site has been an invaluable tool to me and has answered many of my questions and concerns.

I will not pretend to know everything about Banshees.... but I can say one thing with 100% confidence. Fastassbanshee did clock his bike at 91.3 miles per hour on GPS as I was there to witness it.

I will not dispute the fact that gearing charts and math do not lie. Being an engineer by trade I fully realize the accuracy of mathamatical equasions and I am merely posting this to give validity to his claim. He made his run and showed me the speed. It said 91.3 mph.

With that said I can not vouch for the accuracy of GPS. (Even though it pinpoints locations accuratlly from 1000's of miles away in space.) I can not say the wind didn't affect his reading. (It was kind of windy that day and I believe he was going with the wind that run.) I can not say his weight didn't have an affect. (He only weighs a buck thirty or so.) The only thing I can say is that's the speed the GPS showed...

Anyways... this site rocks and I look forward to posting more as my build progresses :headbang:

Hope this helped you out Jon!!!
