red360
what's your guys's take on kendas sand geckos? was thinking about 21x11-10 for the rears.
vulvafan537240
never heard anything good about them. ive heard that they're the worst paddle out there.i actually have a set but havent had a chance to try em out yet. my bro in law had a set on his old banshee and they hooked pretty good i guess. better than my knobbies anyway lol. i paid $50 for mine on douglas rims. i wouldnt buy a set new. 96 sandshee
I think they make for a good play tire, I borrowed a set for my 400EX because the sand stars I ordered hadn't come in yet. The following weekend when I got to run the sand stars I was seriously disappointed in how much traction I had lost compared to geckos. Needless to say I wasn't sad to see the stars leave with the 400EX. I would go with smaller rim than 10" but Besides that they have my vote on a good cheap play tire. bansheesandrider
They are heavy and prevent the bike from revving quickly. That is why they give the illusion of traction, the bike does not have the snap that it used to. But bcause they are heavy and stiff, they don't flex to conform to the terrain. So Cal Suspension
They are heavy and prevent the bike from revving quickly. There is a reason they are the cheapest paddles you can buy. A buddy of mine (see pic below), has those paddles. They don't work too great. If you want an affordable paddle with good hookup, the sand sharks are a viable option. The Sand Gecko's appear to have alot of paddle to them, but the weight and stiffness to the tire prevent it from actually doing it's job efficiently. toytech
what's your guys's take on kendas sand geckos? was thinking about 21x11-10 for the rears. I have a set they work good, they can also be run on any terrain they work awsome in gravel and last, probably not the best in loose sand but ok
NVRBanshee
i have a set on our heavy azz preadator 500 and they work great it had maxxis roosters on it and they were junk... with the geckos it gets around as good as the sandstars on the

SandShots
they suck, dont waste your money. go with haulers. save some money by doing it right the first time and not rebuying to replace a mistake. been there done that. the ones who say that geckos work is cuz they might not of tried a hauler yet. firebanshee
I think geckos are the worst paddle tire ever made.imo
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Geckos ARE the worst sand tire ever made! Buy anything else you can find before you waste good money on them. If you want a v-paddle get some sand skate II's or some Sand Stars. Otherwise go with the Gold Standard of the industry "Scat-Trak"....Haulers or Extremes. Scat even has a V-style called the "Edge". I've owned a set and I liked them....till they were stolen.

donkeypuncher
straight garbage. THE worst paddle tire out there. if you have to have a v-paddle then go with either sandstar or skat trak edge. personally i wouldnt spend my money on anything other then a straight paddle. sangheraent
i think you guys are being a little harsh on the geckos. there like a $100 for a set they get the job done not everyones got $200 to spend on a set of skat traks. dont get me wrong i run haulers myself but 2 of my friends run geckos on yfz450s and 2 run sand stars and there is no place where the one can go and the others cant. believe it or not the bike with the geckos is the fastest all bikes have same mods pipe, k&n, jetted.
