NickisGod Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 so 87sheerips and i have been working with each other for the past week and a half, designing & revising a custom rotor to complete my banshee->250r rear caliper swap. this wasn't a bolt and go mod, the rear disc is only 7.10 inch big vs 8.5 inch that yamaha offered. so after some ideas i ended up using a similar pattern to the other members who've also done the swap. the rotor is sick. i havent bolted it on yet, but i will later tonight. if your interested in doing the swap i will be doing a how to after i have if 100% working. also contact JDS if u want a rotor, im sure he still has the design saved. Meat Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I did this same mod a few years ago. Worked great, I got more ground clearance with the smaller rotor and you get to use a dual piston rear caliper. I would suggest swapping out the 250R caliper though, because they are getting harder and harder to find and they are expensive when they are in good shape. I know the new YFZ's use the dual piston rear caliper, and I'd bet there's more of them on the market compared to the old R calipers. Quote
Powerstroke Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I have been wanting to do this. But damn R calipers are expensive. Quote
