Stator or CDI. I recommend you meter test the stator when cold, then run it until it shuts off and retest the stator. It may also be wise to just swap CDIs with a buddy and see if it fixes it. AKheathen Posted March 26, 2010 Report Share Posted March 26, 2010 2 things to look at.....the wires have been known to melt on the exhaust, by the side of the air box where they are supposed to clip in. and you can give the cdi the smack test, and see if the spark comes back. other than that- remove your flywheel cover and look for water/rust in there Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I am reaching for the popcorn to see what happens on this one. My money is on the CDI at this point but who knows. Could easily be a wiring issue...
