Carb Vs. Carb

What are the pro's and con's of running one versus the other??

I see that most everyone is running keihin carbs, and was wondering what the big diffrence is?? Why aren't there some mikuni carbs mixed in the bunch?

I'm going to upgrade here soon and have been looking at prices on egay and can pick up a pair of keihins for around $300, compared to Mikunis for less then $100. So why aren't there more mikuni carbs being run??

Thanks for the information.

No one has any input about this!!!! You all just run kehin carbs because that's the cool thing to do??

I have ran both. PWK 28 and stock . The pwk's hit harder but the stock carbs seem to be a smoother power. I like the stock carbs better for me, but if I had to put money on it the PWK's build more power.

I have herd from many people and found out myself when jetting the PWK's it is verry dificult to jet out the slight bog on the bottom end. I am verry picky about my throttle responce though. Many people also say they don't notice it. Just my .02

Stock carbs are only 26mm unless they have been bored out, so that accounts for part of the difference.

the keihins are very popular for their ease of tuning. they are very simple to get dialed in and if youre having some issues, chances are that someone here has your exact same setup and carbs.

the stock mikunis work great and will outflow a stock motor easily. when its time to go bigger though, i feel the best bang for the buck lies with the keihins.

it seems that most builders feel this way too as most will recommend keihin over mikuni.
