theoriginal87
What paint did you use ? just sanded them all down, sprayed them with rust-olium adhesion promoter, then gloss black rust-olium universal paint, and then finished them up with some atomotive clear coat.... and good luck with your project man
esterelbanshee
I sure hope that auto clearcoat has flex in it otherwise its gonna crack when the plastics bend. Some paints and clears have a flex agent in the recipe to account for plastic bumpers etc....

Fastassbanshee96
Go to an auto body shop and get car paint. That's what I did with mine and it has held up to everything so fare. And you can get any color. It's a little pricey but I think it's worth it. I'm on my phone now but when I go on the computer I will post pics. bansheex666
that's mine. It's held up to everything I've thrown at it. I just redid it in flat black, I like it alot more. I'll get a pic Btw I used 97 cent paint, I swear by it. Oh it used to be blue here's after a muddy trip through woods with branches and rocks hitting it. Fastassbanshee96
I did all my stuff by hand in my garage. I think everything turned out pretty good I also didall the the wet sanding and polishing of everything by hand too. The front rims were the stock gold rims but after about 80 hours of wet sanding they came out the way they are now. Pics are in my sig. Sorry about the photobucket but I'm using my iPhone. Lol. Let me know what you think of all of it.
SheezFast02
80 hours of wet sanding to get the gold off the wheels? That's crazy. I have a way of removing anodizing in just seconds. I wish I had something anodized kicking around so I could do a short vid. It'd sure save people alot of time.

Sorry i dont mean to hijack this thread here but 80hrs of sanding the gold off the wheels? Damn. My wheels in my sig where gold, it took me 5 minutes per wheel and did no sanding. I posted a thread on this almost a year ago. I used a powerful drain cleaner. $8 at home depot
Fastassbanshee96
Well I wish I would have known all these tricks to get that shit off. It was a pain lol. The 80 hours wasn't just to get the gold off it was also to get out all the scratches and shit but alot of the time did was on getting the gold off. When you guys sanded did you do everything by hand or were you using tools like grinders and dremals? Everything I did was all by hand. By the time I got done with everything, rims clutch cover throttle box brake res ect. My finger tips were bleeding. Not fun. I wish I would have done dome more reading befor just grabbing some sand paper and going to town.
