SheezFast02
Just wondering if anyone here can vouche for a builder somewhere in Ontario, preferably between TO and Ottawa. I want to start planning for some good porting once I get pipes and jetting done. Any ideas?
esterelbanshee
There's a great shop near me called MOTO CHRISTIAN LAURIN. This man has often been referred to as "Yoda" because he is the master of 2 stroke machines. If the Montreal area isn't too far then he would be a good guy for the job
SheezFast02
I'll give him a call. Thanks a lot for your help.
esterelbanshee
The guy I am talking about is known for doing the jobs which have ALL the other shops scratching their heads. He owns and manages his own race teams. Highly modified Jetskis are actually his main interest and people come from all over the east coast to have him do work. I wouldn't trust any of my machines to anyone else. Other reputable shops have proven to be not so specialised. There must be someone closer to you? ToomeySheeLE
Send your cylinders to a shop in the USA and get them ported right the first time around. I got ripped off $350 by a local builder here in Ontario so I'd never try to find someone local in the name of convenience again. There;s a place called 725 Motosports in the Belleville area.. Avoid it.
SheezFast02
Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll just send them to one of the site sponsors when the time comes. That way I'll know exactly what I'm getting.
madjimmax
Thanks for the heads up. I think I'll just send them to one of the site sponsors when the time comes. That way I'll know exactly what I'm getting. Thats a good idea I wouldnt trust just anyone. I just got my topend back from Jeff @FAST and it looks great. I'm hoping to have my whole shee back together next week sometime.Oh and if your changing pipes and all that you should port before you try to jet only because as soon as you get the porting done you'll be rejetting again. So why do it twice unless its something that you like to do for shits and giggles
SheezFast02
Yea FAST is probably where I'll be sending them. My plan is to just jet it with the new pipes and possibly a cool head and ride it for the summer, then I'm doing a full tear-down in the winter with new top end, PC some stuff and basically build it into a real nice Shee. I thought that would be the best time to have the port work done so I wouldn't have any downtime during the summer. I don't mind jetting, the re-jetting. Gives me something to tinker with and swear at.lol
