CadillacBanshee Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 I took apart my bikes clutch today and the nut holding in the basket came off. The problem was that the ears off of the locking washer broke off and the nut just came loose. Im trying to figure out what that washer is called and where to buy it. If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it, thanks. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 What you need is #20 (Clutch basket Lock Washer). http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/showschematic/m6965sch112894 But mine did the same thing a few years back and the tab broke off also from being took off and on a bunch of times. So i wanted to ride and ordered one from the dealer for like 5 bux and i just hit it hard with and impact like usually and rode it for a year like that with no washer in there. Not one problem at all. Then when i had the clutch and basket off again, i used the washer i bought at the beginning of the year and that nut was still tight as all hell. Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 10, 2010 Report Posted March 10, 2010 Cascadeinnovations.net also carries the nut and washer in their OEM banshee parts section. I usually use blue loctite on that nut, then torque it. I never re-use the lock-washer. Just replace it any time you remove that nut. - Jared Quote
