melon350
Not sure what to do with these, installing different intake manifolds and new vf3's. The reeds have a raised section and the manifolds are flat. It doesn't seem like the gaskets that came with them will seal at all, they just catch the edge of the raised part and are the same thickness. I was thinking if I cut my own and made them come all the way in with a hole in the middle close to the center hole they would seal up. Any thoughts or suggestions? What are thoughts on reed spacers, had some on there before, keep em or lose them?
smokin 421
just my .02 i always seal them up with silicone along with the gaskets that way ur sure not to have any problems just dont get it to caked on that it squeezes into the intakes or reed cages... melon350
I usually use a thin film of rtv on them as well.

melon350
I was thinking earlier how nice it would be if that wasn't there. How did you do it? Would it effect using them with other intakes in the future?

I have not seen an advantage to have the raised part but if there is i am sure someone will chime in.

I wanted to know about reed spacer as well, do they do anything or just another boost bottle? also do you have to re-jett when you put them in and whats the best thickness to get? The only thing i have ever used a reed spacer for it to get my float bowl of my clutch arm. I don't think you get any performance gain from them.
